Individual therapy offers a safe, confidential space to better understand yourself, navigate difficult experiences, and build tools for meaningful change.

Dr. Whitmore uses evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s needs, goals, and life circumstances, helping you reconnect with what matters most. Therapy begins with time to understand your background, current concerns, and what you hope to gain from treatment. From there, you and Dr. Whitmore will collaborate on meaningful goals and an individualized treatment plan. Sessions typically last 60 minutes.

Dr. Whitmore provides support for a range of concerns with a focus on anxiety disorders, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, women’s issues, and burnout, and offers specialized treatment in complex trauma and PTSD.

Assessments

Assessments can help you better understand your current challenges, identify strengths and areas of need, and receive personalized recommendations to help you identify appropriate support and treatment. Dr. Whitmore provides evaluations for ADHD, learning disabilities, intellectual abilities, and to help clarify psychiatric diagnsoes.

The assessment process typically includes three appointments: an intake interview, an in person testing appointment, and a feedback session to review results, answer questions, and discuss individualized recommendations.

The intake interview typically lasts 60 minutes and includes gathering a thorough history and background information. Testing appointments typically range from 3-4 hours depending on the scope. Feedback appointments last 60 minutes and include a review of the results, discussion of recommendations, and time to answer any lingering questions.

Billing & Fees

Billing & Fees

Psychological services are a valuable investment in your health and wellbeing. We provide expertise in interventions services that include evidence-based treatments and in comprehensive psychological evaluations to provide clarity, direction, and personalized recommendations.

Service Fees:

Therapy: Therapy services can be billed through insurance. Insurance is billed through the Headway platform. Additionally, therapy services can be accessed through private pay. We have partnered with Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits.

Assessment: Assessment services are billed through private pay. Assessment pricing includes the intake session, testing appointment, feedback, and comprehensive report. At the conclusion of the intake appointment, we will discuss the most appropriate type of evaluation to address your concerns and questions, and discuss pricing accordingly. We have partnered with Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits.

Fees:

Individual therapy: $250 per hour

Assessment: $2000-$3000 depending on level of complexity. A more accurate estimate will be provided after the initial intake appointment.

About

Dr. Kristen Whitmore is a clinical psychologist with extensive experience providing therapy, psychological assessment, and neuropsychological assessment across a wide range of settings. Her background includes work in rural outpatient care, integrated primary care, private practice, and clinical training leadership.

After several years working in academic medicine, Dr. Whitmore moved to Hawaiʻi, where she continued her work in a group practice before opening Origins Behavioral Health. She has experience working with individuals across the lifespan and brings specialized expertise in trauma treatment, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and neuropsychological assessment.

Her approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based care. Outside of her work, Dr. Whitmore enjoys spending time with her family, running, hiking, going to the beach, traveling, and cooking.
